A video from my personal YouTube channel.
Silly me! I’ve taken up a new hobby: watercolor painting! I started cheap to make sure I liked it before diving in. I do! So I purchased some better quality materials, which just arrived today in time to pack them for my upcoming boat trip.
This video tells you about my progress so far and shows some of the exercises I’ve completed. Then it gives you a tour of the new materials and equipment I’ve acquired. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing this info on your new hobby! Very informative. I’ve never tried watercolor. This is making me think about giving it a try!
You can get started to see if you like it with a very small investment. The original paints, brushes, and paper I bought at Hobby Lobby were half price so I only spent about $20. There are good how to videos on YouTube. So the cost of trying is really low. If you like it, you can invest in better stuff, but honestly, if I were on a strict budget, I’d just buy one or two good brushes and keep the silly little paint kit. I think the brushes are most important.
I think you show real talent. I’m sure you’ll stick at it.
I did art at school and really liked it but the science curriculum was dominant and art was ‘squeezed out’. By the time I was sixteen, physics maths and chemistry took over.
You’ve inspired me to give it another go.
Oh, do! I think you’ll enjoy it.
