Hiller Helicopter Flight

Another cockpit POV video from the Flying M Air YouTube channel.

Join me and my friend Captain Michael Tragarz for a flight in his Hiller Helicopter. We lift off from his home at a Phoenix area airpark, head north west, and then turn to the south for a flight around part of South Mountain. I narrate part of the flight but most of it is just the sound of this classic helicopter as it flies low level over the Arizona desert.

  1. Great video Maria. I love the Hiller. I’ve never flown the UH-12E4 but I have around 1100 hours in the UH-12E in mosquito control. I think that it’s the easiest helicopter to fly or to learn in. If you’ve flown one, I’d like your feelings on that issue. The video is very smooth. How did you work that? Have fun and stay safe. Mike

    • I admit that I’ve never flown a Hiller. Honestly, I’ve never really wanted to. But maybe the next time I’m offered the opportunity, I’ll say yes. My friend Mike, who is flying in this video, is trying hard to convert me.

The video was hand-held. I guess I just have a steady hand! Next time, I’ll mount some cameras in there. I might get another chance this coming winter.
